February 25th, 2005 is a day that I won't be able to forget; it's the day that I lost someone close to me.
Native American Prayer
I give you this one thought to keep –
I am with you still – I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone –
I am with you still – in each new dawn.
I'll miss you, dad. I'm sorry I didn't see and talk to you more while I was out on the west coast; I'm especially sorry that I wasn't there with you at the end. You taught me a lot in my 27 years - I'm thankful for the time we did have together. You will be remembered.
